I don't think those 'silver' cans are pre-hopped so you may want to up that a bit.

Do you mean they are just malt extract?

So what makes it a stout kit as opposed to a can of malt extract?

Sorry. I was thinking of the bitter kit although I think the Stouts were also supplied with a hop sachet but can't confirm that.
I think this is what the supplier thinks makes them a 'kit'.

Hi Mate

The stout kits I got didnt have a hop sachet with them. Just the Muntons yeast.

Strangely I got the hop sachet but no yeast. Had to go back and ask for the yeast to be sent out seperately.
Grainfather conical standard bitter
Corny Keg 1 - Silver still spirits tonic water
Corny Keg 2 - Purple empty
Corny Keg 3 - Copper low % ale

Did you use the hop sachet?

Yeah, I wasnt sure if the sachets were for the stout or the bitter I ordered but threw it in as an experiment.

I also added 500g dark DME/ 500g brew sugar. When the muntons yeast finally arrived I got it started, 10 days in got the muntons stuck fermentation. I had to drop into another FV and repitch. Bottled/ mini kegged 9 days ago. Had a cheeky sample last night and its not half bad. Very dark colour with a good creamy head.

I would have thought the Stouts would have been pre hopped, I was about to do one of my Silver Stouts this weekend but I might hang on a bit now till we know the score on the hop situation.

I ordered and received, 4 Bitters & 4 Stouts, got eight muntons standard yeast packets and 4 Goldings Hop packets. The company did say the delays on the bitter kits where due to the hop packets.
