Geordie Lager Q

Post by Thrasher » Tue May 08, 2007 6:51 pm

Hello !

I've attempted my very first brew with a Geordie lager kit.

I've used 1kg of brewing sugar and the yeast that came with the kit.

NOW, what sort of temp should I be looking to store the fermenting bin at for the yeast to work properly ?!?

any direction or advice would be greatly appreciated ! :)

In the region of 18 - 21 deg c should do the trick. Certainly no more than 24 deg c.
Good luck with the kit!

I am finding at the moment my fermenter is sitting pretty at the end of the kitchen worktop at around 19 deg c unaided.
My current brew, Fixby Gold has reached 1.016 after 8 days which is a personal best.

A simple way of checking the temperature is to slide a digital thermometer over the handle of your f.v.

Hi. I'm currently doing a Geordy larger! It's my second batch. I started it last Saturday and I think I will bottle it this weekend. Good luck with yours.
