The kit should be fine provided it isn't dented too badly. Check it when you open it for any "off" smells.

The yeast on the other hand is going to need replacing. I am sure someone will come along shortly with advice for which one to use and further instructions.

It's not going to kill anyone if you use it, but you've got a good chance of it brewing with a stale or possibly soapy flavour.

Might be an interesting experiment to brew half of it and see what happens though.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.
