Too Late to Aerate?

Post by Russ » Mon May 14, 2007 6:42 pm

Hi

Made a brew yesterday. I added my starter to highly aerated wort in the evening. By the next morning no sign of fermentation. On reflection I think I pitched the yeast into the wort while it was too warm  .........
This morning I chucked in a sachet of Safale 04. Now starting to ferment OK but not very vigerous, possibly to low disolved oxygen ? (wort been stood overnight)

Would giving it a blast with the lekky drill and plasters mixer be a good idea at this stage or should I leave it be?

Cheers

I would think it would be fine and would leave it alone.
You might even have been a bit hasty thinking the first yeast starter wasn't going to work (overnight isn't very long) it would probably have taken off anyway (unless you chucked it into 40C wort or something)
