So, who's brewing what over Easter?

Post by Monkeybrew » Tue Apr 03, 2012 1:17 pm

With the Easter weekend approaching, and 4 days off work for most lucky people, its a prime opportunity to get a brew or two going.

So who's brewing what?
FV:

Conditioning:
AG#41 - Vienna Lager - 5.6%
AG#42 - Heritage Double Ale - 10.5%

On Tap:
AG#44 - Harvest ESB - 5.4%
AG#45 - Amarillo Gold APA - 5.2%

I'll be working....but planning to continue cloning proper job and doing an SNPA as my mate (lager head) has decided its the best beer he's tasted (I was right chuffed!).
It means late nights early mornings and a previously unheard of prolonged state of sobriety!

I need to fine tune my APA experiment ( you will be asked for some advice) but I would like to get that done before Easter. As for other stuff, I am tempted to get some more supplies in and get plenty on and get the stocks up!

What are you doing mate?

Fermenting:-
FV 1 - Festival Spiced Winter Ale
FV 2 - Empty
FV 3 - Empty

Brewing my American Red Rye at some point, hopefully Saturday morning if I am in a fit state after Friday at the 'planet Thanet' beer festival!

I've got a special little stout recipe from a kit that I've been working on.

Let's just say that its going to need a fair bit of head-space in the FV!

Once I've got it going I'll post some info ;)

I put a Turbo Cider on last night and I think come Friday I'll have a keg free so I'll get a St Peters IPA on the go too.

Hi
Just started a coopers dark ale, only my fifth brew since starting in november last year, brewing with 1kg of BKE and the remains of left over brewing sugar 325 grams approx, overshot on the brew length though 24 ltrs not paying enough attention to the level. This rascal was bubbling away after about 4 hours and today its like a continuous stream of bubbles from the airlock. hoping i get get the FG down below 1010 as the OG was only 1040, would like 4% ABV+.
cheers.
anyone else brewed this beer with a different receipie?
Johno

i'm not brewing anything for various reasons. I wish i'd been more organised and gotten more brews on earlier in the year, i'm running out and I won't be able to brew again for about 6 - 8 weeks. no room, and most of my stuff is packed as i was supposed to move house last weekend but am now moving at the end of the month.
Fermenting: Russian Imperial Stout experiment, Raspberry turbo cider, Wilko Rose wine, Plum wine

Well I'm hoping to finally do my first BIAB, I've been meaning to do it for over a week but work has got in the way :( Mind you we have a house full over Easter so it will be touch and go whether I can commandeer the kitchen for a few hours. Fingers crossed I'll be brewing BrewUK's recipe for Summer Ale. :D
