Tell me what I'm doing wrong....

At the moment I have the following:

Fermentaion Bucket

Plastic Pressure Barrell

I ferment in the bucket, then transfer to barrel and add priming sugar and finings.

After a few weeks I tuck in!

I read on here about secondary fermentation but is this what I am doing or am I missing something?

I am about to purchase another Kit and dont want to mess this one up!

Secondary fermentation is what gives beer its fizz and will occur in the pressure barrel.

Secondary fermentation is a point of debate and confusion. Simply some people use a secondary to allow yeast and trub to settle before transfering to the keg and sometimes allowing the beer to mature and fully finish fermenting in the fermenter. In britain we (as you are currently doing yourself) allow the beer to mature and condition in the keg, this is how real ale is still provided to the pubs and the cellar-man needs to understand a bit about how to care for the beer before he can serve it.

Check out DaaB pages:

I think if you have a good read of this website(especialy anything to do with kits) you will answer many of your questions.
also check out:

Which is another members web page.

I think between the 2 you should have all the terms and basic knowledge to really get cracking. 8)
