Telfords Porter, priming with black treacle?

Post by Sheepy » Thu Jul 12, 2007 2:42 pm

Im about to keg (for the first time) my Telfords Porter. I was thinking of adding some black treacle to the priming sugar to add a bit more flavour and was wondering if anyone had done this kit and cared to comment if this would be a good idea.
Cheers.

I think I've read that black treacle has very few fermentible sugars in it (its the left-overs from sugar refinement). While it won't add a huge amount in terms of priming I'm sure it will add some interesting flavour.
Next Up : Something for the summer
