Sudden clearing

Post by moco » Fri Jul 13, 2007 10:08 am

I have been regularly testing (ehem,) my Coppers IPA from the King Keg. It cleared pretty quickly the first few days, but remained with a pronounced haze.

Yesterday PM I poured a glass to find it crystal clear (at 11 days in Keg). It had completed cleared overnight.

And it is lovely... 8)

Anyone else experienced this?

I've got a Coopers IPA that tastes gorgeous, but is totally opaque. no sign of clearing whatsoever after 3 weeks in King Keg. now, transfer from ferm to keg wasn't qwuite as smooth as I would have liked, as the tube came off the tap and as well as wasting a smal amount some air got into the beer. will this have casued the clearing trouble?

Can I add finings at this point, and if so, how do I release the pressure in the KK? Will it affect the taste of the beer?
