Cock Ale.........
Hello Boys and Girls,
Ditch has been goading me for weeks to make this Brew, So, being the Founder of the ELC, I made the Brew!
http://www.beerandbrewer.com/_blog/Maga ... /Cock_Ale/
Made The Brew on Thurs 25/9/14
1 Can Coopers Real Ale
1 Jar Golden Syrup
500Gr Med Spraymalt
20,1Gr Chinook Leaf, 20.2Gr Sylva leaf bunged on top of Beer
1 pack kit Yeast and 1 rehydrated pack of Munich Yeast
SG @ 22deg 1042
Made the marinade Thurs evening
Half a cooked Chicken
Crush the meat and bones (lot of marrow in them there bones)
7 Cloves
500Gr Raisins crushed
1 1/2 Lts Dry white Wine
BIG shake of Nutmeg
Cover with clingfilm and put in Fridge for 24 Hrs
The marinade was too cold coming out of the fridge to go in the Brew, so I left it overnight to come up to room temp, just put it in now!
Checked the SG and it is 1010 already! I thought it would have gone up after putting the wine in there!
The taste from the sample jar is Bloody Lovely Mun!
Leave it for 2 weeks now!

Did you check between the drumsticks to be sure it wasn't a hen?
I'm just here for the beer.

Chicken flavoured beer!
He's bound to tell us "It tastes bloody lovely, mun!" He tells us that with even his most, er, 'unusual' efforts!

Re: Cock Ale.........
So the sample jar tastes good!
Do you think it will improve with conditioning, like game would with hanging?

Re: Cock Ale.........
Oh man there is just something so wrong about this idea.
Its a bit like winkles to me( pun almost intended). Who first had the idea of picking them out of their shell and eating them. They look like snot after you've been working in a spray shop
Or that poisonous japanese fish. Um yum oh he's dead wonder what bit killed him. Let's cut this bit out and try again. No he's dead as well.....let's cut this bit out next!!!!! Lunacy
But you can't help but read!!!!
