I had a peek today looks rotten on top but tasted it after taking hydrometer reading . Its down to where it should be according to instructions after 2 weeks. I never took reading at beginning but I brewed it a gallon short to up abs and taste it's very bitter and hoppy at moment I'm going to add hop teabags Wednesday and bottle Thursday I'll keep you updated how it turns out. Smells great.
Wasn't vigorous at all you can see there was barely any krausen was a very slow ferment I suppose. It's the coolest I've kept anything fermenting was constant 64 Fahrenheit

That crust on top looks solid to me!
If the FV is on its` side, no lid, no airlock, and no beer is coming out, what are you worrying about!

You should be able to screw a plastic pressure barrel tap into the krausen and serve.

Hop teabags in now smells lovely now it's a race to drink as much beer as possible by Saturday to have the 70 bottles I need for my 2 kits currently have 45 so 25 by Saturday should be interesting.

Go down your local pub and ask if you can get bottles out of their recycling bin, get there a day before bin man comes
around and you should get loads of bottles!
