wilkos velvet stout

hi all been given a wilkos out of date velvet stout ,first of all i will change the yeast but has anyone any ideas to perk this kit up i am going to buy some lme
not sure light or dark will buy if there is any ideas thought of a dark american got shit loads of american hops , also thought about brewing with lager yeast to try and get a alt beer type not sure with this kit maybe a imperial stout any ideas are welcome [ cheers lee ] :)
soon be dead thank beer for that no pain where im going :-)

1kg of dme and a cup of sugar similar to ditch's stout

Lee,
Don`t bother with hops, they never shine through the Stouty taste.
Put in 40 Vanilla Tea bags as a Dry Hop thingy.
Tasted mine last night, one week in the bottle and tasting BLM! :D
