Fairly new to the joys of homebrew and would appreciate some advice. Started one of brewferms kits last Sunday (Ambiorix) adding 800g spraymalt and 300g of glucose as recommended on this forum. Came out with an OG of around 1.058. Pitched yeast as instructed and after 24 hours evidence of fermentation going on, but not at any great rates. Some 48 hours later fermentation seemed to have stopped and have had 2 readings the same in the last 2 days at around 1.022 (if I have read correctly).
Any advice as to what to do would be appreciated. Do I leave for a few more days, secondary ferment and then bottle, or try adding a further lot of yeast
Ambiorix beer kit
Hi PJ,
I'm also quite new to this but managed to 'rescue' a stuck fermentation of my first kit. I gave the FV a gentle stir with a sanitised paddle (trying not to aerate the wort) to get some of the yeast at the bottom back into suspension. I also added half a teaspoon of 'Yeast Vit' which brought the gravity down by another few points before bottling. If all else fails some people also pitch another sachet of yeast to get the fermentation moving again.
There is lots of really good advice in the 'Stuck Fermentation' sticky post (right at the top of the Kit Brewing section).
Hope you get it going again!

Beautiful kit this one. My dad loved it and drank almost 75% of my kit!!
Anyway, i had quite the opposite issue. My ambiorix overflowed my container!!
My advise is as above, gently stir. Or my less technical solution if you have a nice rigid FV is i give it a quick swift hit on the bottom to rouse the yeast. Has worked a couple of times now
