Out of date kits
Out of date kits
Just found two out of date kits in the Garage. They have remained relatively dry and seem free from rust etc.
They are the Milestone Black Pearl Irish Stout kit (https://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/ac ... r_Kit.html). They went out of date in November 2014. Would they still be ok to brew? Obviously I would change the yeast (I chucked the yeast long ago). What do people think?
Thanks all

To be honest I can't remember. I did one three years ago. For a party and it all got drunk. Lots of roast malt flavour and maybe coffee?

As long as the cans are not bulging then go for it.

Wilko is supposed to be Nottingham. I've never used Nottingham but have had great results with Wilko.

Hello, Wilkos is Danstar Nottingham. Its packaged at source by the manufacturer with Wilko sachets used to package. It is not bought in bulk and re-packaged.

Nottingham's great if you love dry beer, esters that taste awful and the smell of sulfur, lol. Us-05 all the way for me. Clean, reliable, massive temp range and usually carbonates without priming.
