I'm back!

Post by adamzworld » Sun Oct 14, 2018 9:18 pm

After a extended break from home brewing, I've finally made my home brewing comeback tonight! I hadn't realised how long it had been until I checked the date on the wherry kit I had in my shed and it was BBE May 2015!

Anyway tins looked okay on the outside and when I cracked them open they smelt fine so I thought why not see how it comes out. I had two packs of yeast knocking about so rehydrated them and chucked them both in.

Hopefully it will be bubbling away like a caldron in a few days! :=P

Thanks Jim, it's good to be back!

I seem to recall that adding two packets of yeast is worth doing when you're not sure if the original yeast is passed it's best. In this case I put the original kit yeast, plus a sachet of Gervin Ale yeast for good measure.

I'm in no hurry to drink it and if I remember from my previous endeavours, Wherry generally gets better the longer you leave it!
