Coppers Brew A IPA

Post by SilasWegg » Sat Aug 31, 2019 8:48 am

Can anyone say what the Coppers Brew A IPA is like and any advice on what to add to the kit. I've just picked one up for £10 and have a 1.5kg tin of Coppers light malt extract and a 454g had of Holland jar of Holland and Barrett malt extract to use should I choose to.
Any thoughts please.

I did that kit a while ago and dry hopped with cascade, was a very nice brew, it definitely needs the extra hops

I've got 25g of Ahtanum hop pellets that I thought I would boil for 10 minutes in a litre of water and the jar of Holland and Barrett malt extract, then dump the whole lot into the fermenter along with the kit and tin of light malt extract. Is it worth brewing it short to 21 litres or will it be okay at the full 23 litres?
Also is the years that is supplied with the kit an American IPA yeast? I know that some of the Thomas Coppers Selection kits have better yeast than Coppers Original Series kits.
