Hi
Thanks for allowing me to join.
I started brewing last summer with a AIPA kit from The Range. Since that first brew I have made 6 more kits adding extras to experiment.
I am gathering kit to go full grain in the summer.

Re: Hello
What's the plan for the all grain brewing ?
Re: Hello
I have sourced a second hand Electrim mash bin and picked up a30l water urn to use as a brew kettle.
I’m changing the 95 degree sensor for a higher rated one so that I can get a good rolling boil.
Need to make or purchase something to cool the hot wort, most likely and immersion chiller.
I have already built and use a thermostatically controlled brewing cupboard in my garage which can take 3 brew bins.

Sounds like a great set up!Nucbrewer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 11:37 amI have sourced a second hand Electrim mash bin and picked up a30l water urn to use as a brew kettle.

Immersion chillers are not that difficult to make. I managed it and I'm hopeless at DIY tasks! I would not personally buy a ready-made one if you can help it - you could make one much cheaper and use a decent amount of copper tubing rather than the feeble amount used on some of the ones you can buy.
However, you don't need a cooling device. When I started I used to cool the wort down by putting the fermenter in a sink of cold water. This becomes less of an option if you put a tap on the side of the bin. Or you can let it cool down on its own, as M_B says (although I've never done this).
