They don't come better than this

I have this and the same model for corking wine bottles
I agree, a great capper!

Is there a different attachment for corking I can get, or do I need to buy a completely different model?
The corker has a completely different head. I will post some pictures tomorrow.
Thanks

Both are self adjusting in height for different bottle sizes. The corker compresses the cork diameter and then pushes it into the neck of the bottle by means of the prong that you can see in the photo. The capper works with both standard and 29mm caps ( for champagne bottles) without any need to change the bell.
Hope this of use

I have a bench top capper which works perfectly for 26mm crown corks - can't recall where it came from. It also has a separate "bell" (didn't know it was called that) for 29mm crown corks which I occasionally use. This latter one is not so great, but maybe that is because I've used them on (re-used) champagne bottles? I'm not convinced the crown corks attach to champagne (or prosecco) very well.

Prior to that I had an all metal twin lever crown corker which I think I bought in the 80s. It worked well for most bottles, but there were some which it really didn't like and - like others - I found it was wont to take the neck off these bottles. If memory serves, Hobgoblin bottles were the worst culprit. And a friend once brought over a selection of Budweiser 330ml bottles (the ones with the screw off crown corks) - it ate a few of those before we gave up using those sh*tty bottles!

Seems everyone has very different experiences. I've not had a problem using the twin lever capper with Wychwood bottles.

I tried putting vaseline on the bell of the bench top capper and I'm not really sure it improved things. It certainly still didn't do as good a job as the twin lever capper. I might try taking some measurements from both. It's possible I could machine a better bell if it turns out not to be deep enough or is slightly too wide.

Thanks IPA, I might have to see if I can get hold of one. Any idea of the brand name, as my capper doesn't have any markings or logos on it?

They are for sale in our local agricultural shop here in France. Not sure of the price I will look next time I go in.

Here's one. A bit pricey though.

It might be worth asking Rob at the Maltmiller if he can supply one.

Thanks IPA, there's a Grifo corker on the Malt Miller, but it's out of stock and a bit pricey (£80). I only cork occasionally so will look for something a bit cheaper as I can't justify spending that much!
