Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
Have you noticed much of a difference in your beer ? I'm looking to get a BM, mainly for the ease, convenience and consistency, but I'm intrigued to know if the character of your beer has changed with a BM mash/boil.

Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
Its quite early for me to answer this as I don't have any mature beer out of a BM yet as I've only had mine just over a week.
I kegged my first brew from the BM yesterday and the clarity was very similar to what I got with 3 vessel brewing, maybe a fraction clearer, initial tasting suggested it was going to be good.
So far I've not noticed anything in the 3 brews I've done so far to make me think the beer quality is going to suffer at all.
I absolutely love the ease of brewing with the Braumeister over a 3 vessel setup.

Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
I have just kegged my fourth BM brew. Apart from the first one when I screwed up the volumes they have all been very good. At least as good as my 3 vessel system which will soon be for sale. I have no regrets at all. I love my BM.

Like GDB mentioned above, similar clarity if not slightly betteer, results comparable to 3V quality wise.

Thanks for the replies, I'm sold.
Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
I'm the same as GDB, not got beer ready to drink yet but the stress free, ease of the brew day and less cleaning up means it's a winner for me.
Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
I've just completed my 4th brew in my BM and I wouldn't go back. The beer is at least as good. Efficiency is better and, if you brew a belter, you can reproduce it much more consistently next time.
It's easier, less tiring and less stressful
Love it.

Out of curiosity what would be the reason for a difference? What can a 3v system do that a BM (or GF) can't?

Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
I was wondering if there was much of an improvement with the BM, and specifically if the better mash temperature control and recirculation made an appreciable difference.Out of curiosity what would be the reason for a difference? What can a 3v system do that a BM (or GF) can't?
Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
I haven't tasted the beer yet but kegged 3 this week and noticed a definite lack of trub.
Re: Moving From 3-Vessel To BM
I went from small AG in a bag on the hob straight to a BM. Took a while to adjust (probably more down to my nativity than anything else) but I love the minimal fuss and easy clean up. Beers now tasting ace but presuming its cos I have a better understanding in general as opposed to different kit.
