That's a pretty good price compared to the competition. I wonder if the quality stands up to them as well.

No idea tbh, aren't they all made in China these days apart from BM. A local homebrew shop over here is doing a special on them tomorrow for €350 in store purchase or €375 online just for the day.
If your not a fettler like me I guess it's a good way to start.

It's different to the Brewcrafter, in any case they are to be rolled out with you guys in the coming weeks apparently.

The Home Brew Shop (Aldershot), are expecting them in sometime soon, but are unsure when. They are expecting "version 2", but that is uncertain. Prices around 395GBP, but possibly different depending on the version available.

One thing I hate about it is the placement of the controller. On the bottom! You have to crawl around the floor to set it? Or have it up on a table then you have to lift the malt tube up above you head to sparge.

That's one of the things I don't like about the BM too.Hairybiker wrote:One thing I hate about it is the placement of the controller. On the bottom! You have to crawl around the floor to set it? Or have it up on a table then you have to lift the malt tube up above you head to sparge.

At least the grainfather one is easy to access. My replacement one I am building will also have the controls on top rather than the side, as being 6' tall I don't like kneeling down to change things. (it will probably have wifi as well, based on the brewmaic & NodeMcu, if I can just find a way to fit the ssr heatsink )

A mate of mine has relocated the control unit onto a shelf at eye level. Found the BM connector specs and made extension cables for all the wiring.

Re: And another one pot brewing system!
If anyone is interested the new "Bulldog Brewer" one pot system is in stock at the Home Brew Shop (now located in Farnborough). Although it's not in the online catalogue as yet, I am assured it will be within a couple of days.
Too late for me, I couldn't resist the 50 quid off a Grainfather at Brew UK and am now in a state of high anticipation to have my first go with it in a week or so when I get home.
Oh Yeah!
