There were prototypes of this twin-tub thing around a couple of years back. It subsequently had quite a difficult birth IIRC, coming to production and market. I saw some of the innards of one early last year; it looked outwardly smart and operationally simple, but the cost, brewing process and functional design weren't what I would think of as being primarily focused towards knowledgeable home-brewers.

You could build one for a few hundred, it's not that complicated but you need tools, welding and some time.
