Klarstein Maishfest question

Post by E J Gumby » Sat Jul 11, 2020 10:13 pm

Hi All,

I know a few of you on here have this all-in-one.
I want to know if it's OK to dismantle the tap for cleaning.
It looks like a standard half-inch tap, but it's got this black plastic collar-type job on the front.
I don't want to unscrew it and then find it won't go back on.
Anyone done this before?

Cheers

Probably best to fire the question to Klarstien.

Thanks for the reply, Normski.
I did actually dismantle it in the end, and yes, it is a standard half-inch ball valve.
However, it comes with a crappy silicone "O" ring and leaks like buggery when you re-tighten it all back up again.
You'll need to make sure that it's not leaking between the inner and outer bodies, which will let water drip down to where the electrical connections are.
I swapped out the "O" ring for a flat silicone washer. Much more leakproof.

Yeah I did think that it might have something to do with the fact that it has double walls.
Cheers for the update
