Hey there fellow winers,
I was a member on here before but managed to lose most of my log ins, so apologies for that!
I have a friend who, every year, has a grape vine that goes mad. He usually bins hem as the birds just make his washing a funny colour with bird poo!
After a few beers, I hatched a plan to make some frindsbury wine from it, just for a giggle.
I did this a couple of years back and made a blinking fantastic dry white.
So, this year I tried again, after honing skills with beers and kit wines (never again-all reds tasted grim!) and it's looking like a red!!
Grapes were:
Washed & Squashed, gave me just shy of 10L!
Juice at 1.050og was given a gervin yeast and primary fermented down to 0.998
This then was stopped using two campden tablets, decanted into two demijohns and left alone for 2 months.
I bottled it last night and all chuffed with myself suddenly realised I hadn't degassed it.....
Question is, do I decant it again and try and degass it? Have I just manufactured wine cannons??
Novice red (I think!) from grapes help, If I may?

Chances are that after 2 months it'll be as flat as a pancake anyway!
