Re: Spiced banana wine ADVICE PLEASE

Just had a sneaky taster, it's not too bad - I was expecting it to taste a bit spicier and a bit more bananary ?
I think a few months in the bottle it'll probably be an easy drinker but next time I think I'll boost it which some more ginger and cloves (a couple of drops of banana escence if there is such a thing  )

Would it be a really bad idea to stick a chunk of ginger in a couple of the maturing bottles?

Mine didn't need THAT long to be ready. Yeah, it can throw some sediment, but most is gone in a month or so with the recipe I used. More or less standard country wine procedure.
Mind you, the last glass of carrot or parsnip from my recent batches tends to b e cloudy. Maybe I'm not leaving it long enough

A quick update on this..
I had a little sample last night and it's turned out well!
The wine tastes great now although I'd imagine the banana
smell might be off putting for some but I'm very happy with it.
I
I'm considering doing another batch but using cinnamon sticks
instead of the cloves.

Cinnamon sounds better than cloves to me, with banana.

Remind me how strong you made this. Mine was silly strong but that plus the flavour made it quite a talking point when a few of us got together in a local hostelry.
Must make more....

I never got round to doing the readings on that batch but it was pretty much to cjj's recipe.
I've just got a new 3 gallon batch on but this time I've opted for banana, ginger and strawberry
so we'll see what happens  [-o<

Okay so I didn't quite get the 3 gallons once in demijohns
So my question is.. Would topping up with apple juice after a week of fermenting
be a bad Idea??
