As I do not like the taste of artificial sweeteners, I added some stabiliser to my Cider yesterday to kill the yeast. The plan was to sweeten using sugar and then force carbonate.
However, as with all homebrew techniques, I was trying to save time and decided it would be a good idea to start force carbonating, while the stabiliser did its job. Today I let the pressure out of the keg and then dumped a fairly large amount of sugar into it. This was a really stupid thing to do as it reacted with the C02 and erupted with surprising force. Trying to ram the Cornies lid into its hole just created more pressure and the eruption got even more violent.
Just spent the last 1/2 hour cleaning up. I must have lost close to a gallon

It was quite entertaining but not the best use of Turbo Cider.
