Hi all, yesterday, I started my 40 pint cider kit. Now, the wine I've got going in the DJ is bubbling happily away, the cider - not a single pop.
I've even resorted to adding more yeast - still no bubbles.
it's got a froth on top so it's doing something but i'm surprised to see no bubbling - is this just because I'm using a larger vessel and with the increased space available it's just taking to to build up enough pressure to cause a bubble?
Perhaps I have an airleak but can't see where, the lid is tight as it'll go, the rubber bung is sat in nicely
i'm confuzzled
Failed Ferment or just taking time?

Spray with a weak solution of washing up liquid, that will show any leak. Other than don't worry, RHAHB.

This is normal - I imagine it's bubbling fine now?
As I understand it the yeast need to colonise the wort - literally divide and conquer. Once they've colonised they can start producing CO2. They had less to conquer in the DJ so it was quicker.
