This looks good, I'll be giving this a shot with my next TC as well.

Re: Dry hopping Cidre?
I Dry-Hopped 20Lt Raspberry TC on Saturday with 15gr Sylva, 15Gr Summit and 23Gr Pacific Gem. Just using up what was left in the bags!WalesAles wrote:Hello Shaun,Shaun21 wrote:Hey WA, you had any more success with the hopped cider? I've just ordered myself some cascade hops and i've got some challenger hops in the cupboard. Tempted to make two batches and dry hop with cascade in one and challenger in the other. You think 25 grams in each 4 litre demijohn enough or is it recommended to add a little more?
Thanks.
I haven`t done a hopped cider for a while. Just reread my posts and I will be dry hopping one next week. I forgot all about dry hopping!
I only put 25gr in 15 lts so your amount should be tasty!

That sounds good! Have you been using leaf hops or pellets?
I put my cider on Saturday so hopefully that will be fermented out by the weekend. Dry hop it for a week and then back sweeten to taste once I bottle. Never know, it might not even need sweetening.

I used 22gr Summit, not 15gr as stated.
I am using leaf hops in a big muslin bag weighted down into the brew.

Re: Dry hopping Cidre?
Dry hopped my cider last night with 25 grams of cascade pellet hops. Didn't bother with a muslin bag or anything so have a nice thick green mush on top now haha.
Will filter that out next weekend and bottle. Can't wait to try this.

I took the hops out 2 days ago, put the FV in the back garden to cool down. FG 1000 OG 1054.
Bottled this today, the taste is great! I`m surprised that the hops had such an effect on this cider.
I`m so used to drinking this Raspberry TC, I wasn`t expecting the smooth, silky mouthfeel. Hope it gets better in 4 weeks time!

I bottled mine last Wednesday and put one in the fridge yesterday. Just opened the bottle now and it is surprisingly nice! I think 25 grams was a little too much in hops so might try my next one with 15 grams.

Only bottled it 1 week ago!

I have been drinking these TC`s after 17 days in the bottle and they are Bloody Lovely Mun!
I am going to wait before I taste this one!

Patience is the hardest bit about homebrewing. I'm going to have to try another one tonight while watching the rugby.

It`s not ready yet, Raspberry big hit, Hops are there but this needs more time! Not very fizzy!
Let you know in 3 weeks.

Re: Dry hopping Cidre?
Just finishing the last of my first gallon now, I am rocking the hopped cider although I think I will tone it down a bit for the next one, maybe go for something like challenger with about 10gms per gallon or so.
