Anyone done a pineapple T/C?

Post by frogbrew » Tue Jun 03, 2014 9:51 pm

Hi all, as title, anyone done a pineapple T/C? I bought a litre of 100% pineapple (not from concentrate) from aldi yesterday to maybe use in a T/C, should I put the full litre in with 3.5ltr a/j??

Sounds nice! Why not give it a try and let us know how it turns out.

Racked this into a glass demi today and topped up a little with a/j, initial fermentation was crazy and escaped up through the airlock on a 5ltr plastic demi. Settled down nicely after 4days so racked it to get it clear before bottling, the pineapple was a cloudy juice and left quite a bit of residue behind, can't wait to try it as it looks lush in the glass demi.

This turned out really nice with lots of pineapple flavour, goes really nice with the apple.
Have to get a bigger batch on soon as nearly finished this off in the first session it tasted so good.
Would highly recommend.

hi mate, I never bother taking sg or fg on t/c as I don't add any extra sugars and like my tc around the 5-6% mark.
Allways take the readings on lager/ale kits I do though.

FB,
Be careful if you are using Polish Syrups for your TC, I don`t add any sugar with these and they still come out at 7.5 - 9.0% :D

I've not tried a tc with the syrup but used the lowitz rasberry for an alcoholic rasberryade that is conditioning in my garage. You're right about the sugar as this has come out near 8% with just 1ltr apple added and the rest water.
I'll have a go at using it in a tc next time.

What did you use for your yeast? I am curious because they are so variable in what they leave for body and fruit flavour at the end.

FB,
Thats the Syrup I`m on about! Just had a pint of my Raspberryade (made with water) to 15Lts, a nice, tidy 6.6%.
Look through the `Other Brews` Thread. Lots of good stuff in there!
Just having a pint of my Raspberry Cinnamon TC. Absolutely Fantastic!
The Cinnamon smell is Great and Taste is Awesome!
3 bottles Polish Raspberry Syrup
18Lts Tesco Apple Juice
2 HUGE Bramleys Grated
3 Heaped Tsp Cinnamon
3 mugs Tea, 4 bags each
No Sugar
3 Tsp Yeast and Nutrient
ABV 8.2%
Batch Prime 140Gr sugar
Tastes Bloody Lovely Mun! :D :D :D :D

This recipe for t/c sounds good although I might use a little less lowitz to bring the abv down a tad. Probably do a smaller batch too.
My rasberryade turned out very strong and a bit rank if I'm honest, fortunately was only a 1 gal batch, I'll keep it if I ever run out and get desperate.
