Found a bottle of my girlfriends, uncles cider from 2011. Couldn't believe my eyes when I came across it. Most of my own brews don't make it past 6 months let alone 3 years!!
This cider was made by a few people donating apples (enough to make 50 gallons), pressed and fermented for about 3 months. He stored the cider in a whiskey barrel to age for another 3 months and then bottled. As a good will gesture 50% of it was divided up and given to the people who donated and the rest kept for himself and family.
With it being in a plastic bottle I thought it would probably have gone bad but I was wrong! It's really smooth and tastes amazing! Wish I had more lingering about.
Now this is a vintage cider
