How important is taking an OG reading?

I've just realised in my excitement of starting my first brew I didn't take a gravity reading, how will this affect anything?
Will I still be able to calculate the abv etc?

It's not the end of the world, but you won't be able to calculate an accurace ABV figure.

If you're using a kit, just go off the guide value that the instructions give. If it's a DIY brew, you might be able to calculate a rough gravity based on the ingredients, although if you're making cider from actual apples that's unlikely.

It's a Bulldog Strawberry and Lime kit?

According to Google, that kit has a stated ABV of 4.5%, so unless you've done something drastically wrong, that's roughly what you should get.
