Recommend a basic recipe

Post by Hudson1984 » Sat Apr 25, 2020 9:08 pm

Hi all, so our new addition to the family has arrived and....I am in desperate need of a pint....or five!

I’ve got:
Demijohns
Yeast
4ltrs of apple juice
1kg of brewing sugar

Can anyone help me with a quick recipe of just apple cider. Need some quick to make as I basically have a couple of hours at nap time to put it together.

Please be clear and short with a description....I’m sleep deprived and booze deprived!

Add a couple of very strong cups of black tea to your Apple juice, leave out the sugar.

For a plain apple TC
3L of apple juice (Tesco value)
1 tsp yeast nutrient
water to shoulder of DJ (top up after primary vigorous fermation)
Cider yeast

OR
Sweet n fruity ....These two, one with Robinson's strawberry and Kiwi barley fruit squash and one with Lowicz raspberry, when they are finished fermenting I combine them together before priming and bottling to end up with a nice sweet n fruity raspberry, strawberry and Kiwi cider.
3L apple juice (Tesco value)
1L Robinson's strawberry and Kiwi barley fruit squash
1 tsp yeast nutrient
water to shoulder of DJ (top up after primary vigorous fermation)
Cider yeast

3L apple juice (Tesco value)
1/2 of a 440ml bottle of Lowicz raspberry syrup
1/2 of a 440ml bottle of Lowicz strawberry syrup
1 tsp yeast nutrient
water to shoulder of DJ (top up after primary vigorous fermation)
Cider yeast

I’ll go plain apple - haven’t got anything else to hand to use so that’ll be a good start
