Hillbilly pale ale

Post by Horden Hillbilly » Fri Mar 21, 2008 3:14 pm

I will give this a go sometime over the easter weekend.

Golden Promise: 4662g
First Gold hops: 34 ebu (Start of boil)
First Gold hops: 18g (last 15 mins boil)
First Gold hops: 10g ( dry hopped in king keg)
Brewlab standard yeast.

23 litres, estimated og 1042.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to make a pale ale, I have only made done it a couple of times before, using Maris Otter & goldings, each time I have been delighted with the finished beer!

Any opinions or comments will be welcomed.

Be interesting to see how this one turns out HH. I'm currently supping my first AG which is a pale ale. Only Maris Otter and EKGS. Its turned out really clear but not as light in colour as I expected, no doubt the Golden Promise will be bordering on the colouring of a lager but with that great ale taste!

Hope all goes well.

Look foward to hearing how this one comes out.
In May I plan on doing a Tim Taylor Landlord inspired brew - all GP with maybe a little kettle caramelization for fun.

It will mean breaking into my Styrian store.
