Carlsberg Special Brew

Hi all,
Looking to do this Dave Line clone :-
Adapted from 15 to 25 Lts

4.833 Lager Malt
1.250 Flaked Maize
1.250 Golden Syrup
0.125 Hallertau 90 mins
0.025 Hallertau 15 mins

suggestions for yeast?
Or any other suggestions would be appreciated.

My first choice for yeast would be Wyeast Danish Lager #2042.

Will raise the grains to 5.00kg
Have ordered the Wyeast.
Will post some piccies when its brewed.

you dont need any yeast to make special brew do you?
just get some Turps mix it with meths and wave a hop over it, voi la!

I think your being a little harsh, but I like the way your thinking. :twisted: I think a good compromise would be just to take the golden syrup, and water it down with a couple of bottles of "on special" Lidls own brand vodka. And then wave 2 hops over that... :)

I think I am a bit allergic to all really strong beers due to my mother having a bit of a penchant for "gold label" (for medicinal reasons only!) So my first alcohol experiences of "disappearing" a few cans (too many) and ending up on the big white phone to god put me off...

Are you aiming for the full 9%

~Serving suggestion~

-Abandon all personal hygiene for one week per ten gravity points prior to tapping
-Walk a minimum of four miles, barefoot, in one direction
-Spin on the spot until unsteady. Throw keys to your house / car / shed over left shoulder
-Find convenient bridge, viaduct, alleyway, upturned skip, badger set or similarly sheltered spot
-Wait for bad weather. Perfect 'Father Jack' banter
-Put a favourite 500ml can to one side for dispense
-Add beer to taste

I woundered what would happen if I ventured out into the world of Lager.
Think I should've stuck to my Ale's. Much more helpfull lot!!! :wink:
