Post by russt1969 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 5:42 pm

Hi All,
Went to Twickenham RFC Saturday and while I was there I had a pint of IPA and it was shite!! So I thought to myself "Get home and do one"
So as Saturday is looming I am going to do the following.

Pale Malt 4700g
Crystal Malt 280g

Invert Sugar 550g
Challenger 40g 90 Mins
Northdown 25g 90 Mins
Northdown 15 last 15mins
Protothingy tablet
Nottingham yeast

Any suggestions??
Ta Russ

p.s. Do we want pics????

I managed to buy a few bottles of white shield from the local bottle shop a couple of weeks ago during a "palate calibration" session:

I'd really like to make a beer like this so any input would be great - is there any value in culturing up a starter from the bottle sediment?

The rest of the calibration candidates are here:

It was a labour of love!!
