ideas please

Post by Dennis King » Mon Jul 21, 2008 3:05 pm

Off work for a week, brewing today and going to brew later in the week. Looking at my grain and hop stock I can`t decide what to brew! Looked at my various books plus old notes but nothing jumps out at me. So what would you brew? I have available.
13500gms pale malt
300gms torrified wheat
690gms flaked maize
380gms black malt
400gms chocolate malt
140gms goldings
85gms fuggles
100gms challenger
110gms progress
150gms wgv
100gms mount hood
50gms liberty
14gms bramling cross
Think there is plenty of scope, looking brew an premium bitter s.g. 1050-1055. but open to any ideas.

How about my interestingly named Ruddles County clone?

It's based on my horrible efficiencies, if yours are better than mine it will be stronger. Or you could adjust it. ;)

Have tried DL`s ruddles before. Prefere Graham Wheelers. No crystal for either.

It`s a problem, no crystal as I seem to use it a lot.

You have a good chunk of black and chocolate, why not make a porter or stout?

Never brewed either, not a great lover of either but as I said I am open. Gong to use whitelabs london yeast not sure if that would suit those beers.
