Rhubarb beer anyone?
Rhubarb beer anyone?
Hi guys, I really fancy trying to add a rhubarb taste to my next brew for something a bit different.
I was thinking I could brew something fairly simple (like Summer Lightning), add a bit of chocolate malt to darken it a bit and chuck about 1/2Kg of chopped rhubarb in at 15 minutes remaining of the boil. Anyone tried anything like this? A plum beer is another possibility.

Re: Rhubarb beer anyone?
I had a plum beer last xmas, It was pretty nice actually. Rhubarb could work, although would it not be a bit sour?
Re: Rhubarb beer anyone?
As long as I don't overdo it and aim just for a light hiny of rhubarb I reckon it could be a winner. Definitely something I'm going to try anyway.

Re: Rhubarb beer anyone?
It's absolute crap, there was a thread about it last year. The general consensus was to avoid it like the plague

Good for making rhubarb wine - three bags is enough rhubarb for 2 gallons...thesmasheddemijohn wrote:Asda are doing 1kg bags of frozen friuts for a quid.
