Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
What would the recipe look like for a clone of Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted.
Quite fancy making something like this as a summer brew

Re: Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
Thanks Reaper will give it a go
I notice you didnt use Hallertau but thats fine by me as I use Fuggles & Goldings in the main
I hope to use it to convert some of my lager swilling mates to some tastier brews

Re: Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
you could add another kg of MO to the brew as the ABV is a little low.
Re: Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
According to the bottled version (not sure if there is a difference) its hopped using Hallertau Hersbrucker and Challenger for bitterness with Styrian Goldings for aroma.
Re: Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
When my brew was ready I bought a bottle of Bitter & Twisted and had a taste test and I didn’t mine was far off the real thing. I seen to recall mine been a little darker.
Theres a few people made my Bitter and Twisted, anyone else care to comment on my version of it?

Re: Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted
I'm planning on making a bitter and twisted, but an extract version and im limited to challenger, goldings and styrian goldings.
I came up with the following recipe last night, based on the two suggested recipes my Reaper and Burtonbrewer.
I've substituted Hallertauer Hersbrucker for Golding (what do you reckon?!), ditched all the wheat and barley and used Graham's beerengine to end up with the following....
Pale DME 2.4kg
Xtal 200g
Challenger 16g 90 mins
Golding 15g 90 mins
Styrian 28g 10mins
Golding 8g 0mins
Styrian 46g 0mins
OG 1.038
FG 1.009
ABV 3.8%
EBU 30
EBC 19
I've called it twisted landlord as it's a bit of a combo. How's it look anyhow? Is the Golding a suitable substitute and am I likely to end up with something fairly close to B&T?
