what do you think of these?

ive not made up a recipe befor so seen as im off work today and abit bored i made these two up , just want you to know what you brain boxes think of them,



pale/ blonde ale

4000g pale malt
50g crystal malt
200g wheat malt
200g torrified wheat
260g flaked maize (unsure about putting that in)

29g Target hops - 36 EBU 90 mins
25g susan hops 15 mins
25g susan hops 0 mins

nottingham yeast
65' C mash

and


4500g pale malt
300g crystal malt
150g amber malt
50g chocolate malt

susan - 32 EBU 90 mins
50g susan 15 mins
50g WGV 15 mins
25g bodicia 0 mins

s-04 yeast
68'C mash

im not sure how well the hops balance with the malt, so any advice you have will be greatly appreciated,

I`m not a big fan of Amber Malt, its got a very smoked taste to it, and 150g will defo taste strongly burnt.
But i know some people like the taste, so its down to your personnal preferance, i for one will not be using it ever
again though.
Otherwise nice looking recipes, i`d give them a go and then tweek what needs tweeking, its taken me 7 attempts at the
Fiddlers Elbow clone to finally have it how i like it, but thats the good thing with Homebrewing, you can mess around with
the recipe if its not just to your taste.

ahh thanks for that haz66,
i was starting to loose hope that id get a reply,

from what ive used and tasted of amber malt i like, sams smiths nut brown ale i brewed had 500g of it, and turned out a really nice brew,
i was thinking of just brewing them and seeing whats what, but wanted to have you lot have look and tell me if ive got anything massively wrong so that im not wasting my time brewing a naff recipe...you get me?
