I'm stuck between Hop Back Summer Lightning and Deuchars IPA...
Has anyone tried either of these from Grahams new book?
Recipie for AG2??
Re: Recipie for AG2??
i'm probably gonna get shouted down for this, but don't try to make deuchars ipa. it's quite bland (or should i say has no hop flavour what so ever) and summer lightning is a far better beer. and that comes from someone that's been living in edinburgh for nearly 10 years.

I'm from Falkirk and love IPA on tap and bottle, but wan't to make a really tasty AG to show off to family and friends with..

Re: Recipie for AG2??
I've attempted to brew both and would definitely go for the Summer Lightening. The final recipe for Deuchars IPA is still in debate, the one I brewed involved chucking lin oads of Aurora at the end of boil to get the big citrussy hoppy hit. Tasted OK but not quite like the Calendonian brew. TBH I've gone off that brew anyway, I think they've changed the recipe over the last 18 months or so.
Summer Lightening clones quite well despite Hop Back using custom kilned malt. I believe there is a difference in the recipe concerning the hops between the bottled variety and the cask. I'm not sure of the details if anyone else would care to oblige?
