Will be using good ol' S-04 to perform the magic!

What do the great and the good of Jim's wonderful forum think :?:

If the Torrefied wheat is for head retention, its not needed with the Wheat Malt, Just add the weight of it to the Wheat malt in your recipe :)

Cheers pdtnc,

Got the brew on this morning, left out the torrefied wheat and 240g of wheat malt is currently mashing with all the other grains!

I think you need some crystal malt in there, especially if it's a mild

I was gonna say your hops looked a little thin on the ground, 32g is not a lot, but i guess
it all depends what your`e after, and seeing your total IBU`s are only 21 i`m guessing you`re
going for a more of a malty tasting beer.

Anyway hope this turns out the way you want, but if not dont despare, TWEEK :D

What ever you do it will be yours and you will drink it, go for it m8ty :D , if we decide to go our own way and get lost, so what! we at least are going some where.

might need to ask Wordsworth what to do next.

Now the real fun starts!

Making your own recipes is great, I do it all the time and always have different results, makes me appreciate what I like in a beer and understand where the flavours have come from. It also gives you experiance for your next lot of brews, so well done on getting your own recipe together.

You could have chucked it in at any point in the mash :D

Cheers for all the comments guys :D

The trial jar sample tasted all right enough, maybe a little too bitter for a mild but a decent enough beer

It amazes me how much difference such little amounts of dark grains changes the colour and taste of the brew.

Cheers,
Jamie

Give it a few weeks to mature & this will mellow.
