Woodfordes Wherry

Post by Carpking » Mon Sep 14, 2009 3:20 pm

Just got back from Norfolk. They make great beer down there, Adnams, Woodfordes and St Peters as well as the micros...
I am looking at making a batch of Wherry and would love any help on the recipe..

I have:

3.3 Maris
0.4 Crystal
68c for 90 mins
30g fuggles 90min
20g EKG 15 mins
20g Styrians 15mins
20g fuggles 15mins (just chucked this in as it seemed pointless keeping it)
Whirlflock tablet 10 mins

(Thanks to Prolix)

Has anyone tried this or does anyone have any tips, it sounds very good so i am brewing on Saturday.

Cheers.

Can't help you with that carpking, but i will be interested to know how it turns out. I have never seen a Wherry recipe, but that looks good to me. I have trouble with low ABV malty beers like this, I think it's down to my sulphate/chloride ratio's. Good luck with it.

If anyones interested in AG Wherry...
I'm supping a few pints from the corny and it a great beer. Its got 'Wherry' about it and the styrian finish is lovely. Reminds me of the real thing for sure.
:D
