Teignworthy Neap Tide and Hopback Crop Circle, Dark Star APA.... :D
My favourite recent discoveries. I've tried to find recipes for these, but can't. So I was wondering if anyone is familiar with these ales and could suggest similar ale
that has an available recipe. I did try and make up my own version of Crop Circle, but it tastes like Stella 8) .
Any suggestions

One of my local pubs is a Hop Back pub and they have a Crop Circle poster listing the ingredients and grain proportions. I can't remember exactly what the correct proportions are but I know it's mostly pale malt (unspecified type) with some wheat malt. The bittering hops are either Challenger, Progress or Target but I definitely remember that it's got corriander in it. :| Not much help I know but it's a start! I'll make sure I write it down on a beer mat next time I'm in there

Update that list..... Had some Otter Bright at the local the other night, very tasty :D
Thinking about, all thses beers are very similar in taste and appearance, apart from Neap Tide being darker, at least I know what beer I like now

Cheers Middo, I didn't expect it to have coriander in it  You'd think that they'd have to list the ingredients somewhere. This is all it says on their website..

A very clean, flaxen-coloured beer with wonderful thirst-quenching properties. The subtle blend of aroma and bittering hops give a crispness on the tongue which is delicately fruity, giving way to some dryness. The inclusion of flaked maize in the grist subtlely hints at crisp corn flavours.

I did use maize in my version, I bittered with Simcoe and aroma'd with Perle and Bobek, but it's obviously lacking the coriander, it's perfectly drinkable though :D

It's taken me a while, I know, but I finally remembered to write down the ingredients. The poster says:

Grist: 70-75% Pale Malt, 20-25% Flaked Maize, 5% Wheat Malt
Bittering Hops: Pioneer, Goldings
Flavour/Aroma Hops: Pioneer, Tettnang (with Coriander added)

It doesn't say anything about hop quantities or mash/boil times but that's what experimenting is all about! I might have a go at this one next spring...
