Thanks vry much.

I was of the opinion that 05 would let the hops come through?

Should i be looking at using a liquid in this case?

I am looking at making a 20 liter batch so guess i need to make a starter a little in advance if this is the case. Which yeast would you use to let the flavour and odour come through most?

As i say it will sit untouched for a good while.

Thanks again.

Both SO5 and notts let the hops through. SO5 marginly better I suppose.
So there is no need to rely on a liquid yeast on this front.

If its going to sit untouched for a good while, I would go with notts. But then again I would use SO5 if I had no Notts. Flick a coin!
Pitch two packs if you go over a SG of 1.050.

Enjoy, sounds like a good one.

Ok then i'll see what turns up first.

i ordered some 05 and some notts as well as a back up s04!

Seeing is that it will be only a smallish batch ( 16 liters ( all the bottles i have) then i guess one rehydrated pack will be enough. OG planned at about 1060.

This will be done when i am allowed to brew ( i pushed the limits a bit the last few months) . i have been given the message that there is more than enough beer in the house and that i can't possibly want to brew more til that is gone ..

Good job christmas is coming up.:)

The guys i brew with are all lovers of what they call british beers. But, when they make ipa they use only american hops. Now i know that cascade is a great hop, but i thought it would be nice vm have an ipa with british hops.
I have target for bittering, i have northern brewer, challenger, golding and fuggles. Can someone give me a suggested hop schedule?
50 -55 i b u in total.
Thanks.:)

They sure can. Why not keep them till you come back and dry hop the IPA with them?
