Hi
was wandering if anyone new the recipe for a good clone of Amstel lager
i have been asked if i can get close enough by wife :roll:
is there anyone who knows which hops and grains are used in this one

To be honest, unless you are really into the idea of a lager yourself, it might be advisable to just buy her lots of Amstel and brew beers you like for yourself!

Thing is, it's a lot more hassle to create than ales, and you really need temperature control.

If you just wanted to make a drinkable lager with basic equipment, you could go something like:

90% lager malt
10% flaked maize
Saaz and/or Hallertau hops

i have just brewed one like that and i will see how it goes hopefully she will like this one better than amstel and i wont have to buy it any more
