You don't seem to have any base malts. Did you forget to type them?
Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
OK well if it were me i'd go for a summer ale, to welcome in the new weather.
Something like:
3500 - 4000g LME
300g Caramalt
20g Northdown - Full boil
30g EKG - 10mins
20g EKG - Flameout
This should give you a light ale with plenty of hoppiness but not too much bitterness.
For a traditional stout you'd really need some flaked barley.

Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
I agree with Badger.
The crystal will dominate, rather than adding to a balanced ale. I'd cut it down to about 7%-10% of the grist for the crystal and maybe add some of the Carapils (say 5%) for some body. Hops look good.

Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
You could try a Hobgoblin style beer
With 250 Grams of Crystal and Carpills and 150 Grams of Choc. Not sure how much Spray to use but your looking for about 1045. And hop to about 30 IBU.

Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
The grains look OK but i'm not really too wild about the hop schedule. The early northdown looks OK, but i'd use a lot more EKG (perhaps 20g) and put it in later (perhaps at 10 minutes). I'd put some in at flameout as well, but hey that's up to you.
I think your ale as it is will be easy drinking, but quite boring.

Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
Cheers Dav-o. brewed this up yesterday afternoon, would it be owrth while dry hopping with EKG
Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
Im thinking I should have added a third hop addition at 5 mins or flame out for this one. Would this benifit now from maybe 15g of dry hopping with some ekg pellets?
Re: Recipe Suggestion Anyone?
You could dry-hop if you fancy trying it.
Might be an idea to live with it as it is for now, and see how it turns out. You can always experiment on future brews.
