Next brew quandry - a good session beer?

Post by Chard » Fri Jul 09, 2010 8:44 am

Im looking to brew a good light session beer for the rest of the summer. I will soon have a temp controlled fridge that i need to christen/test :)

I already have Styrian goldings, fuggles and willamette in fairly good quantities but am not adversed to buying another

Its probably going to go into a corny

I have G. Wheelers BYOBRA as well

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! im at work so ill check in periodically

If it were me I'd brew a standard English bitter. Pale MO, a bit of crystal, Fuggles and Goldings. About 4% and don't overdo the hops. You could be drinking it in 3 or 4 weeks time. Pure and simple, nicely balanced, nothing flash. Perfect Summer drinking. I'm thirsty now... :D

Mind you, I'd recommend getting some "proper" East Kent Goldings rather than those Styrian imposters

16 g fuggles (3.8%) @60
16 g EKG ( 6.8%) @60
17g fuggles @10
17g EKG @ 10
19g Fuggles @ 1
19g EKG @ 1

Ditto on the goldings, they go good in anything.
I'm just here for the beer.
