Manns

Post by iann41 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 8:35 am

The father in law has started drinking Manns. Not sure what it is, i think its a brown ale but its only 2.8%.

Has anyone got a recipe for Manns and how could i make it a little stronger?

Thx Ian

Wow, that stuff is sweet - too sweet even for me, and i don't mind a medium-sweet pint.

I wouldn't know how to go about brewing that at home. That level of sweetness isn't achievable by normal craft brewing methods IMO - high mash temp and less-fermentable malts.

I think the stuff is probably brewed, "killed" and then has loads of sugar added to it.

Unless you really like the over-sweetness of Mann's, just go for a standard brown ale recipe and work from there.

Looks like i'll have to brew the father in law a normal Brown ale and just add some sweetness.

He's a bit of a tight sod (just like me), so anything free and he's up for it.

Thx for the replys
