I don't like the idea of that, myself.

I suppose the acid test would be, does it contain an allergy warning?
If it doesn't it probably doesn't really have shellfish in it.

I meant the ink, though.

:D

Porterhouse Oyster Stout does indeed contain a small amount of shucked oysters (i.e. no shells) and their beer menu states that it's "not suitable for vegetarians"

Does it taste like oysters? Well, I don't think oysters have a strong taste anyway other than sea water, tabasco and whatever else they're sitting in. The oyster stout is delicious though, not what you'd expect, it's just a bit.. aromatic I suppose. Light years better than the big brewery Irish stouts.

Mackerel beer

Post by bettyswallocks » Sun Feb 18, 2007 3:52 pm

Got my juices flowing reading a bitter Dave artical about Mackerel beer. I live on the isle of man and am surrounded by the oily delights. Also mentioned Oyster Stout, Bushy Brewery over here does brew it with real oysters. Nice pint, Great if ya constipated.
Our local ice cream maker does actually produce Kipper Ice Cream.
Aquired taste but ok.
cheers
