Frivolous Frog #001 - Unanticipated Ale

Post by Kev888 » Wed Nov 03, 2010 8:53 pm

Hi All,

was casting about for the next thing to do on my upgrade, and realised that (aside from hose pipe for filling and IC) I've now finished - The Frivolous Frog nano brewery is born!!
(will post some pics later in the equipment forum)

Now I was going to test it with water, but what the heck - I've got some left overs so may as well get a brew on :-) Probably not worth being too concerned about much at all until I find out its foibles - it could even fail entirely for all I know. So with what I have (for a 40L ish brew length) I thought:
5kg Maris Otter
5Kg Optic
1kg crystal malt
0.5kg in total of torrefied wheat + wheat malt
S04

But for hops I only have 100g packs of Goldings (AA 5.1%), Saaz (AA 3%) and Hallertau (AA 2.6%). So was thinking 75g Goldings at 90mins, but can't decide between going all goldings and adding the rest at 10mins or introducing some Saaz or Hallertau.

EDIT: Decision made - see the post in brewdays

Cheers
Kev
