Brewed this porter over the weekend, any comments? Will be using wyeast west yorkshire yeast to try, ordered a couple of them for my TTL brew.

Amount Item Type % or IBU
4.08 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (3.0 SRM) Grain 73.34 %
0.45 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM) Grain 8.15 %
0.45 kg Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 8.15 %
0.35 kg Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM) Grain 6.29 %
0.23 kg Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 4.07 %
45.00 gm Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] (60 min) Hops 23.8 IBU
20.00 gm Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] (20 min) Hops 6.4 IBU
28.35 gm Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] (5 min) Hops 3.0 IBU

Watered it down to 1054 OG, and target about 1016 FG... Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be too much like Fuller's london porter. I'm still pissed the nice ppl at wychwood decided to stop production of the blackwych, but i guess stouts and porter may be a smaller mkt

Update on the west yorkshire ale yeast that I used... ITS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! Just when i thought that the S04 was wild, this one is really VIOLENT. Fermenting in 23L in a 30L FV, the fermentation was so strong that it came out of the airlock and formed a top layer of yeast cake on top of the cover of my FV, and I was thinking if there is enough yeast left in the FV to complete the cycle, on the other hand I was thinking that throwing away such a nice and healthy yeast cake would be wasted, but I didnt want to take the chance since its exposed to air.

Its fermenting really fast

Sounds like the swan neck on a union cask!

Errr - and what would be the problem with that ??? Anyway, I've recently made a Fuller's porter based on GW recipe, it contains a lot of brown malt, since you haven't used any then you should be safe.
