Nice looking brew. I like the sound of the Kohatu but have managed to resist buying any...yet. How do they smell?

Look forward to hearing how the beer turns out.

Cheers!

Looks a cracker smd I was drinking a single hop Kohatu by my local micro last night very tasty looks like you can only get them in pellet form, have you had to modify your hop filter (assuming its copper pipe) or do the whole hop leaves act as well enough as a filter ?

The pipe has been modified so it sits inside a stainless sieve sleeve which prevents the hops from clogging. The leaf hops all ways help!!

Just got 100g of these delivered from Rob with a boatload of other NZ hops

Don't know what to make of them. Was considering a bit of a single hop American IPA tomorrow with them.

Something like 90% Pale Ale, 6% Munich, 4% corn sugar.
Summit at 60 and 30 to 40 IBU, and then 100g Kohatu between FO and DH
WLP001 (got a 1.5L starter on now)

Thoughts after your brew today?

Wait a minute.... How does 1 hour time difference confuse me into thinking that you've already brewed it!

Also. On the hop filter thing. I just use my regular filter, which doesnt clog but pulls a lot of sh*t through. I'm not buying this particular obsession of crystal clear wort. Most of my beers are perfectly clear after I rack from primary into keg and then carbonate and serve... and the yeast is a little happier with all that extra protein I pull through.
